Statement of Purpose
Academic Program – MSc HRM
Intake – Summer 2022
If anything good has come out of the pandemic, it is the freedom of working from anywhere. Although a forced-choice initially, the data from the last two years indicate that most workers delivered higher efficiency while working in remote mode. HR think tanks agree that a global workforce is the future of work. Human Resource Methodology and Policies will require a complete transition to satiate the worker’s talent appetite for remote work.
To the success imperative of curating a successful career as a Human Resource Management Professional, it is but prudent for me to harness this seminal transition of a global workforce. Therefore, with scholarly vehemence and after exhaustive research, I aspire to pursue the MSc HRM program at your esteemed University. The curriculum is perfectly aligned with my learning goals. It complements my undergraduate education in Hospitality and my work training for the past year, accrued as a BPS Analyst with one of the leading Tech & BI companies in India, Tech Mahindra.
My acquainted peer network can readily testify to my affable demeanour and curiosity as a student. I have focused on event-based learning throughout my academia, often going beyond my syllabus via reading materials, attending conferences, and ample practicum exercises. Post completing my Senior Schooling at Vignan Junior College, Hyderabad, in 2016, I consciously chose to pursue an undergraduate degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management with the rationale of gaining a career-ready knowledge bank in people facing profile.
From 2017 – 2020, I diligently pursued three years of Bachelor’s education at the National Institute of Tourism & Hospitality Management (NITHM), Hyderabad. I effectively comprehended my course work in foundational management principles and frequently collaborated with peers and industry to partake in experiential exercises. Additionally, my undergraduate study modules extensively covered academic theories and research in interpersonal skills, psychometric evaluations, office workflow compliances and the popular technological suites that augment ease of work in large corporate entities.
Through the participation and intelligible mentorship I received at the NITHM campus, I formed a strong conviction to develop knowledge and skills akin to an exemplary HR professional. I, therefore, went through multiple internships as an HR intern. I was privileged to intern at the Club Mahindra Resort (July 2018 – October 2018), located in the picturesque foothills of Munnar, Kerela, which is a favoured tourist destination for global travellers. As a Front Office and HR executive here, the training gave me strong insights into people management, guest experience and working knowledge of SAP which I used for Guest documentation and HR reporting.
I utilised my college years to develop proficiency in interdisciplinary tools and concepts via valid Certifications in ‘Amadeus’, ‘Business Verticals of Tourism Industry’ (Tibro E Gurukul), ‘SEO Boot Camp’ and ‘Logistic & Supply Chain Fundamentals’ (Udemy).
I completed my undergraduate degree in 2020, gathering foundational vocational knowledge in multiple facets of office work and with experiences that I will relish for life.
Since January 2021, I have been working with Tech Mahindra at their delivery centre in Hyderabad. My job role here is as a BPS Analyst. My key result areas include but are not limited to working on Geographical Information System (GIS) Process and analysing Point of Interests (POIs) for various geographies. The experience at the firm has exposed me to the workings of target-oriented, quality work and allows me to deal with a reputable global client base on a day to day basis.

Although similar academic programs are available in my home country, India, the syllabus is somewhat arcane.
