Intro
Nothing can be more beautiful than a scenario when your passion and education come together. The joy of learning and working on things you love the most is indeed unmatchable. My career as a tax and finance consultant exemplifies such a feeling and has been extremely rewarding till date. But, the hunger to learn more and grow more as a professional is never ending in me. It is evident that in the past few years, the demand for management professionals in India has been expeditiously rising which intrigues me to pursue an Executive program and not to miss any opportunities to learn how big business organisations work. Pursuing the EPBF program from the prestigious IIM (A) will not only provide me a competitive edge amongst my peers but also furnish me with requisite skills to efficiently manage my family business.
Academics and Work Experience
I chose to study business early in my teens. Right from middle school, I perceived it to be an almost mystical domain. After completing my Senior school, I immediately chose a business and finance stream to pursue a BCom as an opportunity to undergo a balanced business management, Economics, and Accounts syllabus. I was privileged to get admission into Christ University, Bangalore.
Soon after receiving my bachelor’s degree, I began working as a Tax Analyst for one of the Big 4 accounting firms, KPMG. My primary tasks at the organisation were to submit income tax returns to the Indian tax authorities and help overseas people register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).
In addition to managing cross-border tax difficulties in order to minimise the tax burden and avoid multiple taxations of work income. I also assisted ex-pats in acquiring their PAN cards.
The triumph of my career while working at KPMG was effectively collaborating with two Senior Associates to complete year-end filing needs for around 300 to 350 expatriates under tight timelines. Throughout my employment and as a newcomer, I got the Sparkling Debut award for demonstrating the most exemplary performance.
I consider myself lucky to have received praise from the Engagement Manager for my overall management of the customer during my first few days on the job.
Later, I opted to refine my talents further by pursuing an MBA in Finance. I was fortunate enough to be admitted to the Army Institute of Management and Technology in Greater Noida. This training increased my confidence in dealing with money and tax difficulties in India and any other nation.
After finishing my master’s degree, I was offered a position with another Big 4 firm, PWC. I started with the company seven years ago as an Analyst and was just elevated to Manager.
My time at PWC has been incredible thus far. Professionally and personally, I have seen myself progress day by day, year by year.
The apex of work at PWC is effectively managing a team of new associates to guide them through tax season and familiarise them with the entire operation of the Indian tax system.
I worked with customers who were ex-pats in other countries (around 24 every year) and was familiar with the tax systems of other nations such as Singapore, the United States, Sweden, and Norway. During my tenure at work, I got four awards for outstanding achievement.
I also received hands-on experience registering expatriates with the regional office while working at PWC.

Following the careful investigation, I decided to pursue higher education at IIM because of the university’s acknowledged quality in research and skilled professors.
