Why study Masters in Business Administration (MBA)
A Masters in Business Studies is a natural progression in my educational promenade. Although, I have developed robust administration skills through under graduation and work experience, yet, a formal degree in Business will expose me to accepted management fundamentals and theories via research and practicum exercises. My primary learning outcomes from the MBA program are to learn the scope and application of digitisation in business management, develop my cognitive and analytical skills and most importantly accrue a specialist Leadership perspective.
The MBA program will aid me, not only to build up on my existing knowledge, it will pave a tangible path for my career growth as well. I am certain that this is the most opportune time to revive my educational plans for the growth of myself and for the greater good of my career in Leadership roles.
Why study at Torrens University Australia (TUA)
It is only after exhaustive research, that I have chosen TUA to complete my Master’s degree. The university is one of the fastest growing academic institutions in Australia and offers an extended, Advanced MBA program, especially designed for international students. My further research revealed the pragmatic pedagogical practices of TUA and that it is globally recognised and formidably ranked as Tier 1 institute by multiple publications, including the ‘CEO’ magazine.
The advanced MBA program at TUA is a fresh approach to business management offering liberal choices of cores and elective study modules with a clear focus on curating scholars with effective cognitive, technical and decision-making skills in an increasingly global context. The two-year full time study program is spread into 16 subjects including 10 core modules with each one facilitated with 3 hours of classroom learning and 7 hours of self- directed study per week. The syllabus is very relevant to the current managerial eco-system with disciplines spanning Accounting and Finance for Leaders, Organisational Strategy, Leadership Dexterity and Operational Management.
I have chosen a dissertation path way which will undoubtedly enhance my research praxis, cohesive writing abilities and give me an applied scope of my education; collaborating with my intelligible peers at the TUA campus and with some of the reputed corporate names in Australia.
Why Study in Australia
While deciding on my education destination, I conducted expansive research about the MBA study options available in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia. I attended multiple education fairs including the one organised by United States Education Foundation (USEF). There is no doubt that many esteemed universities in North America offer MBA program of good learning stature. Canadian Universities like the Universities of Toronto and McGill promise comprehensive learning but the weather there is not conducive. Reputed Universities in USA such as Chapman University and Howard University offer similar courses but the tuition fees in itself was upwards of USD 40,000 per year. The cost of fees at the good universities in UK was similar or higher.
Similar courses are available in my home country, India, but I seek to gaining an international business management exposure and develop academic tenacity, both in terms of research and practice. The curriculum of the Indian Universities is largely subjective and focussed on preparing a work force in the context of Indian Corporate sector.
I am admittedly biased to study in Australia for my inherent likeness for your country and considering the fact that TUA is offering a brilliant Master’s program at lesser costs of about AUD 28,000 per year. The living expense in Australia is also moderate when compared to USA and UK. Australia offers me a holistic educational exposure in a conducive manner; being a friendly place for international students and delivering stupendous research and educational infrastructure.
Future Goals
After completing my Master’s Program, I will return to my home country and seek to acquire leadership slots with International Airlines such as Etihad and Singapore Airlines. My ambition is to work as a Chief Supervisor or a Crew Manager for a few years and then progress further in my career. The median salaries offered for these positions is close to INR 250,0000 (AUD 50,000) and thus, I will be deriving a very healthy return on my investment made on my foreign education. My ambition also includes propagating my knowledge with fellow girls in India and will strive to increase the participation of Indian women in the global aviation Industry.
