Working on the ground level is the best way to serve the community. From the starting itself, I had a keen interest in serving the community for betterment. Therefore, I decided to make choice into profession and enrolled in the Social work course. Due to the financial crisis the dream of mine seems to be pie in the sky. But the International Excellence Scholarship of UniSA is a ray of hope for me to fulfil my goal.
I have always been honest to my studies and have done back-breaking work in ample community programs. I have been an active community support worker. Here are some programs where i have participated – Transport people with disabilities to appointments, shopping venues and events, Work with clients to engage in social activities and develop their social skill, Visit client’s house and provide medical support and care, Help clients with personal care and house chores and Work for the upliftment of families of clients.
As a volunteer, my skills and understanding have given a valuable contribution into various organisations. Here are faw programs where i have volunteered – Care Others Too (Co2) (2015-2019), Special Olympics, India (2018), Rajeswari Palliative Care Foundation, India (2016-2018) an active member, Green Army International, India (2017), Student Secretary- National Service Scheme, India (2016-2018) and many more to add on near future. Apart from this, I have also garnered Best student NSS volunteer award from the Kerala state government, Best active volunteer award from school. I hope it will become clear now how much I adore this profession and want to make myself a valuable addition to this profession.
In upcoming days, I’m also planning to be a part of various community service activities in Australia and motivate others as well to be a part of such activities. While doing all these things, I will be required to financially support myself. Looking at the current situation of my mother, this is going to be very burdensome for her. With the help of this scholarship, I can perform up to the mark.
I have completed a Diploma in Information Technology from University of the Sunshine Coast in 2019 and successfully secured High Distinction in all units. Higher Secondary Education Kerala State Board from GGHSS Cotton Hill in 2018. And currently pursuing Bachelor of Social Work from University of South Australia. During higher secondary, my extracurricular activities and performance helped me to get the position of school secretary. I also got the best student award 3 times and have been an active Social Club member.
I’ve always been a voracious student. I’ve driven myself towards a successful career by seizing every opportunity that has come my way. The scholarship offered byUniSA
Will completely complement my efforts. I am excited to build my expertise in my field of interest and to embark on an exciting career and developing the community.
