I am drafting this letter to support my candidature for pursuing the Master’s program of Data Science from XXXXX University that will constructively aid me in upgrading my skill set and enable me in copious learning in the complex subject matter of data science and machine learning to interpret data and identify the pattern towards innovation and progress. Along with accruing considerable success during my formal education as well as professional stint of over two years, I also gained immense exposure to data interpretation and data analytics.

My first academic project, “Design and Analysis of Grid-Tied Floating Solar PhotoVoltaic System”, was solar-based. This project aims to show how different electrical things produce electricity when combined with the sun. I completed it by using my whole knowledge regarding the subject that I learned in my college life.
One of my research papers titled, “Techno-economic Analysis of 1 MWp Floating Solar PV Plant”, was also published by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). This institute is the professional association for electronic and electrical engineering. Creating a Floating Solar Photovoltaic (FSPV) system for use on water instead of land was the goal of this research paper. The solar panels of this system are set up on water. To complete this assignment, we used MATLAB to simulate a PV module and produce an M-Code for designing the layout of a PV plant.
Additionally, we developed data visualisation on MATLAB to plot and contrast the ground-mounted PV system’s power generation patterns with those of the FPV system. It concluded that the former was preferable due to its higher efficiency due to numerous restrictions, including the automatic water-cooling effect and more power generation. The FPV system saves money and protects the environment by eliminating the evaporation of millions of litres of water.
When we decided to submit a research paper that IEEE would publish, my curiosity to learn more about the topic and showcase our effort in the best light was awakened. In the research, we developed a techno-economic analytic design of a suggested 1 MWp FPV plant by simulating the data while considering the graphical patterns of Sun tilt and solar irradiation and then utilising MATLAB to analyse the data from prior FPV systems. They calculated the FSPV’s efficiency using the outcomes of simulations and concluded that it is higher and superior to the Ground Mounted Solar PV system. Additionally, we conducted an economic analysis utilising the PVsyst programme to determine the investment, plant operating costs, and return on investment (ROI). So, through this project, I gained a thorough understanding of the subject and learned how to analyze data and use it in a wide-ranging way to provide actionable insights using a data-driven strategy.

Post completing my BTech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, I joined IQVIA as a Data Analyst, an American multinational firm with the leading pharmaceutical and marketing agencies as their top clients. Data Management and Dashboarding was their first project in which I developed Tableau dashboards to identify the KPIs and campaign metrics that were later used to draw actionable insights for the company’s clients. In another project titled, Marketing Campaigns, my primary responsibilities included creation and monitoring of several items such as email campaigns and their operations, campaign analytics, reports, playbooks, activity journey, and segment and segment injections. I accomplished most of these important tasks on the Salesforce Marketing Cloud. I am currently working on their latest Multi-Channel Marketing Analytics project and have taken certain accountabilities such as conducting engagement analysis to facilitate a client’s understanding of the effectiveness of a Physician. I also conducted the marketing mix modelling to derive insights from the relationships between sales and marketing initiatives. Over the course of two years of exposure to various technologies, I have expanded my knowledge and familiarity with the sought-after languages and tools used in modern marketing. This includes SQL, Tableau, Python, Power BI, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and MATLAB. At this point in my career, I strongly feel the need to have advanced skills, qualifications and certifications in my career, which is exactly what today’s employers are looking for. Hence, I have come to a realisation that a formal education in Data Science is my next best step that will help me make substantial progress in my career as a professional Data Scientist.

After a colossal research, I have concluded that the XXXXXX University is the best place to pursue the degree because of its formidable reputation and ranking in the country. The holistic Data Science program involves a practical and hands-on methodology, which includes case studies and multimedia simulations to help gain a deeper understanding of concepts. I am certain that from day one, the course will prepare me to drive growth with data insights. I also found that the program is taught by leading digital pioneers in the field. The institution is known for its faculty, which includes today’s masters in data science. I am excited to learn my choice of electives from professors who have industry experience in companies like Amazon and Google. With their insights into the latest cutting-edge trends, I will be able to implement data science principles immediately at the workplace. Thus, the Master of Data Science from XXXXXXXX University will help me become a successful professional in a data-driven company in India.

After completing this program, I will acquire a slot into the mid-level data scientists positions in leading multinational companies like Infosys, Elixir, Amex, Microsoft, and more. Here, I will leverage my understanding of data and work on much larger datasets across the company to identify risks, improve services, as well as drive innovation.
