Applying to: University of Gastronomic Sciences, Italy
Course: Master in New Food Thinking
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am drafting this cover letter in response to being enrolled at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in my chosen Master in New Food Thinking programme, which is for a duration of XXX semesters/years. Only a few universities, none of which are in India, offer this unique academic programme. The excellent educational system in Italy and the modernised curriculum that UNISG offers in my preferred educational area support my decision to study there. The unique study programme will advance my goal of immersing myself in modern food cultures and help me grow my network of contacts worldwide in the food industry.
I was raised with discipline and an understanding of the value of hard work and academics since I was born to talented parents. My father has really motivated me because of his exceptional commercial insight into Indian agriculture and business. My sister works at Cortiva in Hyderabad as a regulator analyst and is also quite successful in her own right.
We have been raised with academic discipline and ethics, especially my mother, a devoted homemaker.
Post completing my 10th and 12th from PSSEMR School, Davangere and Deeksha Integrated Learning, respectively, in 2016. I voluntarily chose to enrol at PES University in Bangalore for a Bachelor of Business Administration in Hospitality and Event Management, which I successfully completed in 2019. I have served as the student organiser and coordinator for the PES University Slow Food Club for three years. I am also the editor of the first university slow food magazine.
I have worked hard to discover the truth and thrive in my coursework throughout my academic career. I have consistently concentrated on strategic marketing and communication tools to interact with potential customers while keeping company administration at the forefront of my mind.
This master’s programme explores the difficulties and delights of modern food systems. It employs an unconventional “thinking in practice” teaching and learning methodology to equip you to become a force for good in the food system. It will increase my knowledge and comprehension of the ingredients’ whole development and launch process. By fusing theoretical ideas with real-world experiences, I can actively explore how the world’s culinary cultures and creative processes are related.
After doing a thorough study, I decided to pursue my aspirations by attending the University of Gastronomic Sciences. I looked at the courses offered and saw that they matched my learning objectives. Ministerial recognition has been given to the privately operated non-profit organisation UNISG. It was founded in 2004 in partnership with the Italian regions of Piedmont and Emilia-Romagna by the international non-profit organisation Slow Food. Additionally, via integrative education in the arts and sciences, sensory training, and hands-on learning opportunities while on study excursions to five different continents, I may get dynamic experiences in artisanal and industrial food production.
In a University Magazine ranking of the top nations for American students to study abroad, Italy ranked in the second position after the United Kingdom. Italy has always attracted me because of its many prestigious colleges and kind demeanour toward visitors. Students keep returning because they can learn Italian while simultaneously experiencing the country’s language, culture, and cuisine. Of course, many of the world’s finest intellectuals were Italian, from Alessandro Volta and Enrico Fermi to Galileo Galilei and Leonardo da Vinci.
I pledge to adhere to all laws and regulations and not exploit the opportunity to pursue higher education. Italy will help me achieve my academic and professional goals, which is my sincere motivation for going there. I humbly request you to please grant me study permission for the period of X as soon as possible so that I can make my course enrollment deadline.
Sincerely,
