Subject: Appeal letter for resuming studies in the institution
Dear Sir/Ma’am,
I, XYZ, a student of the University of Toronto, pursuing XYZ course, I am writing this letter to appeal for reconsideration of my academic suspension. I fully accept responsibility for the rapid decline in my academic performance over the past several months. I request a second opportunity from the committee.
The death of my grandparents occurred in my native country. For me, it has been really stressful and upsetting. Since I was a youngster, we have always been really close. I used to get anxious just thinking about them. I ceased to be on time. I began to put things off and put in more hours at work since I had to assist my family back home in paying for funeral expenses. For me, those were terrible times. I was unable to gather my serenity to go to lectures, study, or even eat. Despite the empathetic instructors’ who advised me to seek therapy, a leave of absence, or other forms of assistance, I just decided to sleep nonstop and make an effort to forget the awful event.
I do, however, have a strategy to get back on track. I promise to be on time and study for longer, at least three hours for each course. In order to prepare for examinations, I’ll practise continuously using past tests, sticky notes, and outline websites. I never attempted to ask for help in the past since I was always afraid to speak to advisers, but I’ve learnt that I need to alter that mentality and ask for assistance whenever I need it.
Being dedicated to excellence in both teaching and research, the University of Toronto routinely ranks among the top universities in the world. I’m ready to improve my grades and am committed to my institution. I aim to graduate with honours from the science faculty and pursue higher education as well.
I request you to kindly reevaluate your decision to suspend me from this course and give me the chance to prove to you my potential in the presence of the proper assistance. I appreciate you taking my request into account.
Sincerely,
