The Visa Officer
Canadian High Commission
Sub: Re-application for the student visa (Application number – XXXXXX)
Respected Sir/Madam,
The intent of drafting this letter is to support my student visa application to visit Canada and pursue the Computer Applications Development program from the globally-acclaimed Conestoga College. I applied to obtain the student visa to pursue my chosen two-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate (Post-Graduate) from this institution. In response to my previously submitted VISA application, the officer informed me that it does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). Unfortunately, due to this reason, my VISA application got rejected [under R216(1)(b)] on the following grounds:
A: I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
B: Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of: your qualifications, previous studies, mark sheets, academic record, level of establishment, future prospects and plans.
Through this application, I want to shed light on the relevance of the proposed study with my rationale to study in Canada and leave the country immediately after completion of my chosen Computer Applications Development program.
Response to A:
Factor A: I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
My only purpose in visiting Canada is to pursue the program of Computer Applications Development and take advantage of the educational facilities available at Conestoga College. I am emotionally attached to my hometown in India, and thus, will immediately return after completing my chosen program. There are enormous opportunities and scope of this field in my country. As the IT companies in India continuously have to update their computer hardware and software, they also require skilled Computer Applications Development professionals to carry out the same job. Thus, I firmly believe that opportunities for such support services will remain high even in businesses operating on a small scale. Throughout my past work experience, I have gained substantial knowledge of numerous technologies such as Servlets, JSP, Angular 2, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Services (REST), DEs and Tools: Eclipse, Spring tool suite, JIRA, VS Studio, Oracle SQL Developer, Splunk, Maven, Gitlab, and Tomcat. Comprehending the holistic curriculum of the program will support me to gain the most sought-after skills needed to develop, operate, troubleshoot and maintain computer and network systems that fulfill the objectives of businesses. I look forward to absorbing vast knowledge under the progressive education approach that the Canadian universities follow. The amiable style towards overseas students enables the country a preferred choice amongst thousands of international students for pursuing their desired education. Moreover, the only reason to not choose any Indian institution is the limited scope of applied learning, especially in terms of research and industry partnerships. This is why I chose Canada to pursue my higher studies owing to its economic educational programs and living standards. Therefore, I only intend to acquire the student VISA permit to pursue my chosen program and hence I request the officer to consider my reasoning and grant the VISA so that I can realize my vocational objectives and gain the necessary skills and knowledge before I go back to my homeland.
Response to B:
Factor B: Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of: your qualifications, previous studies, mark sheets, academic record, level of establishment, future prospects and plans.
Throughout my formal education, I studied my chosen disciplines in a diligent manner to achieve excellence in the subjects. With 8.82 CGPA in Btech, 8.86 CGPA in higher secondary, and 93.8% in senior secondary school, I was amongst the brightest students in my class. Along with academics, I performed remarkably well in extra-curricular activities, which helped develop the desired soft skills and further grow as a scholar.
I was inclined to the field of electronic and communication systems since high school and hence, opted for the Master’s program in this field to improve my knowledge and skills in this background, eventually leading to better career prospects. To further serve my interests, I actively took part in the one-day workshops and seminars held during my four-year B.tech in Electronics and Communication program. This offered me insight into the latest trends and aspects of the field and I was fortunate to meet and interact with professionals. For your ease of reference, I have attached my mark sheets of my matriculation, senior secondary school, and Bachelors.
There is a range of opportunities across sectors in the IT industry in India and it is growing at a steady pace. Over the last few years, the industry has split into two divisions – one that is commoditized and the other is a specialized sector. I aspire to work in the Big Four – Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC, because these companies exhibit tremendous growth and upskilling opportunities. Through my exhaustive research, I have found that Ernst & Young recently announced an investment plan that includes technology transformation in computers & IT and training of employees to leverage these cutting edge technologies. With credence, I am looking forward to partaking in the plan and exploiting the possible opportunities. I already have more than four years of experience in development, design & testing web and service‐based applications. Now, I aspire to move up the ladder and acquire senior positions in which I can get the opportunity to lead and manage large scale projects and cross departmental teams. Moreover, with hundreds of qualified professionals entering both the divisions each year, one certainly has to be remarkably competitive to acquire the highly coveted roles. Thus, my chosen program, Computer Applications Development, will help me be well-prepared to take on broad roles such as Senior Consultant, IT Advisor, and Project Manager in the above-mentioned companies.
I have provided all the details in a crisp, concise, and clear manner, thus looking forward to a positive response. I commit to abide by the guidelines obligatory for international students and to put my best efforts and time to fulfill my academic goals. I thus, sincerely request you to grant the study permit visa so that I can continue on my academic promenade.
Sincerely
